about

This is a song I wrote about a girl I met up with at the beach in August of 2019. This song is how I learned what a Summer fling truly was. Brooke, if you're out there, I hope you still listen to the Bummers. After all, we got Ben Shooter himself on lead guitar!

lyrics

Down by the pleasant beach.

By the wooden boardwalk.

There’s a girl with blonde locks of hair making some ice cream.

Her lips softer than clouds and her hands warmer than sauna steam.

Her name is Brooke from the Beach and she knew how to get in my dreams.

Sitting on a bench at the end of the boardwalk, feeling her lips against mine.

Gettin’ a scrunchie on my arm as to say “something to remember me by”.

I felt a warmth in my heart and I kept it for a pretty damn long time.

Her name was Brooke from the Beach and she was so neat.

Jammin’ to the Bummers in my Civic so sweet.

Walking down to the pleasant beach.

Feeling her lips against mine was such a treat.

At the top of the hour, no later than four, we came to part ways.

She had to work for the rest of the day.

Said that she would give me a call and walked away.

I walked to my car with a knot in my heart, you know what I mean.

I learned what a summer fling was and that it will always be just a dream.

Brooke from the Beach thank you for being so sweet.
